Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival
Virginia Beach and the surrounding area of Hampton Roads, Virginia are home to the one of the largest concentrations of military bases in the United States (neighboring Norfolk, Virginia is the home base for the Navy’s Atlantic Fleet). So each year, Virginia Beach, shows their appreciation of the area’s military personnel by putting on a big Patriotic Festival right on the beach in the resort area. The 2016 festival dates are June 3 – 5.
The Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival features three days of national touring artists concerts at a stage constructed on the beach at 5th Street (the southern end of the resort area). In addition to the big national acts, there are performances by USO Show Troops, military bands, and local bands or other stages throughout the festival. There is a Military Expo Village along the beach from 15th Street to 20th Street, showcasing the mission, equipment, and personnel of all branches of the military.
Performers for the 2016 Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival are Chris Young, with special guest Bobby Bones & Raging Idiots; Sam Hunt with special guest Canaan Smith; and Big & Rich with appearance by Cowboy Troy.

Find hotels closest to the Patriotic Festival – We have the hotels that are closest to the 5th Street Stage mapped out. Anything along the Virginia Beach resort strip will put you pretty close, but try to find something at the southern end (lower street numbers) to be closest to the action. The resort strip stretches for about three miles, with a (concrete) boardwalk located between the hotels and the beach, from 40th street south to Rudee Inlet.
