Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival in Franklin, Tennessee
The Pilgrimage Music and Cultural Festival takes place on a horse farm in Franklin, Tennessee and features a diverse line-up of music with an emphasis on the Americana genre. The event also pays homage to Tennessee culture with regional food, drink, and vendors. The 2016 Pilgrimage Festival takes place September 24 and 25.
2016 is just the second year of the event, which began in 2015 with an impressive first-year line-up that included Wilco, Willie Nelson, Weezer, Cage the Elephant, Steven Tyler, The Decemberists, Sheryl Crow, Band of Horses, Dr. Joh, Dawes, Chris Stapleton, and more.
The 2016 line-up of performers includes Beck, Daryl Hall & John Oats, Jason Isbell, Grace Potter, Kacey Musgraves, Violent Femmes, The Arcs, Kaleo, Cake, City and Colour, Shakey Graves, Better Than Ezra, Margo Price, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, and more.
Franklin is located about 20 miles south of Nashville. Many musicians live in Franklin, including Justin Timberlake, who recently signed on as a partner and producer for the event.
