San Antonio’s New Tobin Center for the Performing Arts

San Antonio’s new Tobin Center for the Performing Arts opened in early September after a seven year, $203 million project to re-purpose the old Municipal Auditorium. The new facility provides a home for resident arts companies such as the San Antonio Symphony, Ballet, and Opera, plus provides a state of the art venue for visiting performers.

The facility’s inaugural season features a varies all-star line-up. Headliners scheduled to perform at the new center include Paul McCartney, Bill Cosby, The Charlie Daniels Band, The Piano Guys, Citizen Cope, Santana, Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band, Art Garfunkel, Erasure, Susan Boyle, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Garrison Keillor, Jackie Evancho, David Sedaris, Lyle Lovett, Wynton Marsalis, Blind Boys of Alabama & Mavis Staples, Itzhak Perlman, Bradford Marsalis, Arlo Guthrie, and John Mellencamp.
