Portland’s New Revolution Hall Opens

Concert-goers in the Portland Oregon area gained a new place to enjoy live music this month. After months of renovation work, the auditorium space in the building that was once Washington High School, is now a new addition to Portland’s concert scene – Revolution Hall.  The space maintains the feel of the old auditorium, using the original seating (with new cushions added).

The hall seats 830, according to their website.  “Martha’s” restaurant/bar is located on the first floor of the building.

The venue is getting good marks on its new sound system. Take a look at this review of Revolution Hall’s first concert.

The Drive-By Truckers are scheduled to appear in April. Other scheduled acts include Neko Case, The von Trapps, and Horse Feathers.

The hall is located in the Buckman neighborhood, at the corner of Southeast Stark Street and 14th Avenue.  The location is on the edge of a residential neighborhood, so you won’t find lodging real near by, but there are plenty of options that are relatively close.
