Plans Proceed for Levitt Pavilion Denver
Plans for a Levitt Pavilion outdoor concert venue in Denver are proceeding. Renderings for the venue’s design were recently released by project architect Studiotrope Design Collective.
The pavilion will be located in Ruby Hill Park, just south of downtown Denver.
The anticipated opening date for the new facility is July of 2017.
What makes the Levitt Pavilion concept stand out from the crowd of amphitheater spaces around the country is the goal of providing increased access to the arts through free concerts. Levitt Pavilion Denver plans to produce 50 free concerts each summer. Local acts will be featured, giving them an opportunity to play for a large audience.
Levitt Pavilion Denver is a public/private partnership between the City and County of Denver & Levitt Pavilion Denver, and will be operated by Friends of Levitt Pavilion Denver, a local non-profit with a mission to build community through music by creating an outdoor living room in one of Denver’s most beautiful and underutilized parks.
The are several Levitt Pavilions currently operating around the United States, with locations in Westport, CT, Bethlehem, PA, Mempthis, TN, Arlington, TX, Pasadena, CA, and Los Angeles, CA. Levitt Pavilions are partially funded by the the private Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation.
