Bridgeport, Connecticut’s Minor League Baseball Stadium to be Redeveloped as a Concert Venue
Plans are under way to redevelop the Ballpark at Harbor Yard, which was the home of the Bridgeport Bluefish minor league baseball team, into a “boutique” amphitheater, creating a concert venue with seating for 6,500 to 8,000. The venue will be known as Harbor Yard Amphitheatre.
According to an August 8, 2017 article in the Stratford Star, the developer for the project is Harbor Yard Amphitheatre, LLC, which is a partnership between Live Nation and Howard Saffan, who is the owner of SportsCenter of Connecticut in Shelton (an active amusements center with mimi golf, skating, batting cages, etc.).
The venue is expected to host 25 concerts each summer.
