Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts

The National Park Service is very present in the Washington DC area. We all know about the famous National Monuments. But you might not know that there’s a National Park for the Performing arts in nearby Vienna, Virginia. Wolf Trap started with Catherine Feline Shouse’s donation of 100 acres of farmland and funds for the construction of an indoor-outdoor theater. The Filene Center, a 6,800 seat indoor/outdoor facility opened in 1966. The Barns at Wolf Trap were added later (constructed from two 18th Century barns moved to the site from upstate New York) and provide an indoor venue
Vienna is located just outside of the Beltway in Fairfax County.
